Class System

We brought them the class system. :(

Read about why Thanksgiving is a national day of mourning for American Indians: http://zmagsite.zmag.org/Nov2006/munro1106.html

I'll have more to read about the class system soon hopefully... :)

Thanks again for the replay, Sally. You've used some harshed words and attacked me for endorsing an article. I suppose it's my own fault for not providing well-thought out substantial opinions of my own. I suppose now I need to write a response to defend the purpose of my original post.

The biggest problem, I believe, is the class system. The "bullshit" that you speak of, is exactly that, bullshit. The class system is indeed the biggest "bullshit" that has brainwashed earth-dwellers since the beginning of time. You're right to point out there was a class sytem of sorts outside of Europe. However, Europeans brought Natives a new type of class system that 200 years later, the indians still haven't learned to love.

I vehemently disagree with you when you try to pin the blame on those before us. Noone wants to be responsible for what happened to the Indians. However, and it will take much more than one post to tie all the links together, but I believe things haven't changed much since Andrew Jackson's campaign slogan "I never met an Indian I didn't kill, and I never killed an Indian I didn't scalp."

Setting aside current problems with the way the US still treat natives (with little respect and respresentation), my point is the the US government is still using the same tactics it used before. This time running around the country bashing homosexuality and Islam. How can politicians get away with saying things such as "Islamic Fascism"? It's sugar coating the previous message. "We fucking hate you and you will die, *." Replace * with your enemy of the day, and that is what the US has been doing since it's inception. We should be ashamed of our past as you point out, but we should also be ashamed of our prsent for the same reason.

To sum up my views on the class system, all people are created equal, and should be given equal opportunities. This has NEVER been the case in the US. As a woman, you should realize that only very recently you have received your rights. Laws today are not stacked in favor of Indians. They never have received the flavor of justice that other americans enjoy. It's class war, and ruling class ideology that propogates the issue. We gave them some land (little that it is), now they should be happy to wait as we invite terrorism to their original land.

Maybe I'm missing something? Oh, is it that natives have every chance to join our societies and enjoy the same freedoms we have, of starbucks every morning. I don't think they really want that, and they don't want what we've given them either. Yeah, it's a tough position, but I don't think at the end of the day you can claim that justice is served and only in a long-ago fantasy land indians were abused.
